OMRON Healthcare Supports 'May Measurement Month' 2018

OMRON Healthcare has donated 20.000 blood pressure monitors in a joint effort to record blood pressure readings of millions in more than 100 countries and fight hypertension.

HOOFDDORP, June 28, 2018 - Convinced that a fulfilling life with zero compromise on health starts with prevention and control, OMRON Healthcare has donated 20.000 blood pressure monitors to support May Measurement Month, the largest global public blood pressure screening programme ever¹, in a joint effort to record blood pressure readings of millions in more than 100 countries and fight hypertension. In the first edition of MMM in 2017, more than 1.2 million people’s blood pressure readings were recorded and 40% of them were obtained using OMRON devices.²

President of the ISH Neil Poulter said that “this is a much-needed donation of devices which will help our volunteers across the world”. The CEO of OMRON Healthcare Europe André van Gils added that “OMRON Healthcare is very proud to be helping May Measurement Month for the second time. Hypertension can be a devastating condition and raising awareness of it will help drive improved healthcare for people across the world”.

Thanks to a comprehensive awareness campaign in local and national media, OMRON’s message of prevention reached more than 3.114.000 people in the UK, reminding them that the end of MMM shouldn’t mean the end of keeping track of their blood pressure.
